It's the countdown until I get RELEASED... FROM HIGH SCHOOL that is; and I just can't wait. It seems like I've been in school FOREVER. These four years have been the longest four years of my life. Between the quizzes, tests, eoct's, ap exams, and finals, I believe I've finally proved myself worthy of that GOT DANG HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA! I can't wait to walk..... well RUN ACROSS THE STAGE! Obtaining my high school diploma not only signifies freedom from the nagging teachers at Stephenson High School (THE NUMBER ONE HIGH SCHOOL IN AMERICA)...are you kidding me... but the beginning to a new chapter in my life; COLLEGE BABY :) For college I am attending Georgia State University. My mommy is more nervous for me than I am for myself. "It's the city," she tells me all the time, "and anything can happen to versus on a traditional college campus." Honestly I feel that I am ready to branch off. I been overprotected by my parents for entiely too long and while i'm only going to school downtown it's just enough space for me. Guys don't rush your high school career; it'll be over before you think. Enjoy your time as seniors next year... EXCEPT DANNY; HAVE FUN TAKING THE TEST WE'VE ALREADY PASSED LOSER ;).

Kiely Williams former 3LW and Chettah Girls star has officaially lost got GD mind. She went from a Disney Channel star to a porn star. Her new video "Spectecular" is about a sexual encounter she had with an unknown man (one night stand). As stated in an interview her intention "was to bring awareness to a serious women’s health and safety issue. Now when artists are trying to portray a message they usually have some kind of noted tag at the end of the video to explain what's really going on. She also went on to say that the vidoe is only a figment of her imagination and that she sholud be able to act however in her vidos. Ummm NO YOU CAN'T! A social responsibility is an ethical or ideological theory that whether it is a government, corporation, organization or individual has a responsibility to society at large. Does that mean we are socially responsible for our friends? Let’s say you are at a restaurant with a group of friends and a new guy you are introducing them to for the first time. At the dinner table he begins to discuss an infection he has on his big toe. Should you be socially responsible for not training him how to speak around you friends or better yet, the dinner table? Or let's say you decided to meet up with a long lost friend today. You invite her to meet you at a popular shop where you are a regular. Chicago's Only Public All African- American Male School Sends Its Entire Senior Class To College!

Urban Prep Academies is a nonprofit organization founded in 2002 by Tim King and a group of African-American education, business and civic leaders. The first school Urban Prep Charter Academy for Young Men, Ellenwood Campus was opened in 2006. Urban Prep Academy strictly inforces uniform of black blazers, khaki pants and red ties, until they are accepted to college- they then get their gold tie. The Academy's mission is to provide a comprehensive, high-quality college preparatory education to young men that results in our graduates succeeding in college.
Recently, the entire senior class at Chicago's only public all-male, all-African-American high school has been accepted to four-year colleges. The 107 seniors had earned spots at 72 schools across the nation. They were congratulated at an assembly in which Chicago Mayor, Richard Daley and Chicago Public Schools chief, Ron Huberman attended. The lucky seniors belong to the first graduating class at Urban Prep.

BS, BA, But No MRS.?

Forty-two percent of U.S. black women have never been married, which is double the number of white women who’ve never tied the knot. Is it because their standards are too high or is it because they just choose not to get married? After watching the documentary “Why Are There So Many Single Black Females?” it all became clear. Many successful black women are single because they have their standards (which they don’t plan on lowering), as should women in general. Some have particular height requirements, some financial requirements, and some other requirements. There are 1.8 million more black women in the U.S then there are black men. Out of the population of black men available subtract those with no high school diploma, no job, and those incarcerated; this leaves about half of the black male population available to marry. While the number of unavailable black men is disappointing, some of these women are willing to date outside of their race. Although dating outside of their race is an option they still aren’t satisfied with the market. Will these beautiful successful women be single forever?

True Life: Man I Miss My Dawg *

When I came home today it hit me that my little brother is gone for four days! Today my little brother, Derek, left for his first overnight field trip. I must admit at first I was ready for him to get the heck out of the house. Now he's only been gone for 10 hours and 20 minutes and I'm counting down until 5 o'clock Thursday afternoon for his return. #imisshimdearly ! I miss him coming home and ringing the door bell obsessively even though he has the keys in his hand, honking the horn FOR my mom so we'll know that they're home, comparing my day with his to see who had the most fights, kicking him out of my room when he pisses me off, and all his annoying antics. I’ve come to realize that as much as we argue, he is the light that brightens my day. Family has always been the most important thing to me but I never thought I would miss my brother this much in so little time. Now me and my baby brother Jaden, have no one to gang up on, I guess we’ll be arguing with each other! =) Pictured above from L to R; Jaden, Jasmine (me), and Derek.

True Life: Children & Divorce

In the older days there was no such thing as divorce; you stayed together and worked things out. Although some relationships just aren’t meant to be, fifty percent is just too high. Today, divorce has developed into a common rite of passage. Each year over one million children in America fall victim to divorce, half of those children experience the divorce before eighteen. Children of divorced parents tend to have more health, behavioral, and emotional problems and will eventually have a hard time with crime and drugs. For some children, divorced parents don’t affect them. One of my younger cousins lives a perfectly normal life with divorced parents. She understands that things didn’t work out for mommy and daddy and has grown accept it. Unlike the general population of children victim to divorced parents she is a straight “A” student, has no history of behavioral problems, and is emotionally stable. Divorce affects children differently. Fortunately, I live in a happily married home. =)

Pregnancy Rates (Black v.s Caucasian)

According to government statistics, African American teenagers have a higher pregnancy rate than Caucasian teenagers. After watching the movie "Pregnancy Pact" I discovered that those statistics may not be necessarily true. Caucasian parents try their hardest to hide the fact that their children slipped up and had unprotected sex. In reality shows like "Teen Mom," all the featured characters are Caucasian. I don't see how African American teenagers have a higher pregnancy rate. I know that there is more to the situation than what is visual. I'm not saying that it doesn't happen to teens of the African American race but I am saying that I don't neccessarily beileve the "stastics." Just something that was on my mind!
